All of a sudden, I could feel the stray hairs that had fallen out of my bun sway slightly, and felt someone softly breath a warm whisper on the back of my neck. 
My body impulsively allowed goosebumps to sweep across my entire back and I whipped my head around as if in slow motion, looking for whatever would have cause the feeling I just experienced.

Mihaela Erikson is a typical 24 year old woman living the dream in New York working at her Stepfather's prestige law firm. However, she happens to be a human surrounded by Werewolves and Vampires. After her Stepfather is murdered in front of her, she slowly uncovers the truth hidden from her, and just how closely tied to both worlds she is.

I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.
