Book Two of the Northern Lights Series. We entered the hotel to find a large amount of alarm and confusion. I tightened my hold on Clark's hand as we moved through the foyer. I searched the crowds for familiar faces until I found my father, "Dad!" I called out to him. My father came rushing to us, pulling us both into a tight hug. His heart was pounding, "Oh Charlotte, Clark, it's bad. It's really bad." I pushed him to arm's length, my eyes wide with concern, "What happened?" "The conference leaders are about to make an announcement. There was a terrible attack on the Crestview pack in Manitoba. They are located by Cormorant Lake, just to the north. It's only about five hours from Red Rose..." his voice trailed off. "What happened James?" Clark asked, holding on to my father's shoulder. My father's face was pale, his eyes began to brim with tears, "They were ambushed last night. You need to understand this pack is the second largest in Manitoba, almost six hundred members. They are a strong pack, well trained with great warriors..." Clark stared at my father, "James...". I pulled him into a hug as the tears started to fall, "They are all gone. Ripped apart, the men, women and children. Whatever they did, they left none alive. The pups were all slaughtered." My shoulder became wet with tears as my father hung on to me for dear life. I was shocked by his words, how can an entire pack of that size be wiped out overnight. Surely there was a misunderstanding, an exaggeration of the event. "That's not possible." I whispered. My father pulled back to look at me, holding on to my arms tightly, "I know, it shouldn't be. Crestview is a vibrant, large pack. They have a large presence in Manitoba. This shouldn't have happened. We don't know how it could have happened."

Meghan Polinsky was excited to see her long distance boyfriend of four years when she took her trip to Brazil. All that hope was squashed as soon as the pilot announced that the plane was about to crash. You know you will die. No one comes out alive from a plane crash right? Not to mention she didn't expect to be stranded on a raft with a undeniably sexy stranger... Throw in a bitter old man, a doe eyed little girl, and a silent little boy, as they try to help one another survive. The endless life changing isolation and trauma they just endured they will never be the same... They need one another as a raft. Not to just float above all the sharks but to make it out alive and keep one another sane. ••• "Lucas's strong hands pulled me up and I sat like a lifeless doll in front of him. He gave me yet another blank stare then turned, once again, to the water as if it was actually entertaining him. I felt frustrated as I huffed loudly to get his attention. He turned to me still with his bone-chilling stare. It was a cold stare but I still found my safety in it oddly enough. I stared at him blankly getting lost, forgetting why I came over here. I sat there as the raft slowly rocked back and forth. "Need anything?" Lucas said seriously. ••• Highest ranking: #1 in raft #1 in surviving #1 in trauma #2 in intense #3 in tearjerker Started: 3-17-19 Finished: 12-30-19 WARNING: MILDLY INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND THEMES
