George and dream have been mates for years and fiancees for two, and dream is a werewolf shifter. He gets stuck in werewolf form, and gets two good years with George and sapnap before he passes, since his wolf form caught up to his human age. George feels the pain in the mate bond, and he has to live through the pain with Sapnap at his side to support him. Dream is reincarnated as a dog, and immediately sets out to find his mate. It's been half a year without dream, and George is still mourning. Everything has lost dreams scent and George can't help but feel even worse because he couldn't smell his mate anymore. George bumps into puppy dream, who is a Siberian husky, and George takes in the malnourished pup, and names him dream after his lost fiancée, and dream is excited, thinking George knew who he was but he didn't. Dream helps George cope, and maybe one day dream is able to shift back, who knows?
