This is my contribution to the Ambys 2021.

It's somewhat of a horror story/ paranormal adventure, so here's a little warning to the easily scared readers.

It was one of those old fashioned trains who took you on a trip trough fabulous landscapes without no real destination. The adventure was the train and watching the scenery outside the window.

She had looked forward to it for so long, and she was really enjoying every moment of it.

Until that evening in the restaurant cart.

Her eyes filled up with tears as she hid under the dining table. 
Full blown panic hit her as she realized she was closing in to the end.
For the love of God, she thought, she had planned this trip to be the beginning of her new life, and not the end of it...Toate drepturile rezervate

Michael is visiting Japan, his father's home country, but he feels left out. Not only can he not speak a sentence in Japanese, he doesn't resemble his family or anyone in the country whatsoever. Anyone who sees him can tell he's never been here before. The only excitement he gets is when his family boards the shinkansen, the famous bullet train that's rumored to be the fastest in Japan. And that's the least frightening rumor. The others are much darker. Stories of people going missing near the train station. Especially the legend of the Teke Teke, the ghost who used to be a normal girl before meeting her demise by the shinkansen. At first, Michael brushes them off. They're just legends and rumors, after all. But then, he sees how pale and eerie the passengers seem, how they lack any emotion or warmth in their pale faces and hollow eyes. The dark shadowy figure running along the tracks, fast enough to keep up with the train. And the terrifying sound that repeats in his head...

She goes out on a trip with her family to the Talatal Ghar, a palace built by the ahom kingdom, in Assam(India). It is said that the talatal ghar has secret underground maze like tunnels that were built as an escape route for the Ahom kings. Mira doesn't believe these myths about secret tunnels but then her beliefs are ripped away when she falls down into one such tunnel by mistake or intentionally lured in by someone or something. Will she survive in those tunnels where many soldiers centuries ago got lost and died or visitors before went missing never to be found again?
