Lee has lived his whole life inside the safety of The Lodge. A small community of survivors located in the mountains. He has been trained to deal with the monsters that hunt in the woods right outside his front door, as have every other survivor. However, after encountering something on a scouting mission that he can't explain, Lee must deal with the consequences of the knowledge he has gained. Knowledge that might destroy the monsters that have stalked humanity for generations.

Emya awoke to the smell of death, surrounded by wreckage, and without a memory to her name. After a close encounter with a creature she can only describe as a monster she meets a group of survivors and is taken to The Lodge. Now she must survive while the society that took her in crumbles around her, and she learns that something from her past may be the key to humanity's survival.
