Nadir (Tales of Atheria Book One)

The story goes that a long time ago, before the Atheria Clan was founded, there was a village. Known locally as the Village of the Forest. It was a peaceful place, they lived off the land, respected the forest, and never took more than what they needed. It was truly a place of peace.

However, peace was not to last. For you see, the neighboring village; known as the Village of the Plains, had set their eyes on claiming the land for themselves. They were a brutal tribe who took whatever they wanted and paid no heed to the needs of others. This way of life had left their own lands barren and charred. For many a battle had been fought within the village both between the villagers themselves and with those they had treated so cruelly.

One day, dark clouds appeared on the horizon, and the villager of the forest rushed about frantically fearing that a storm of almighty proportions was on its way. Little did they realize just how right they were...
