A burglar broke into his apartment, and he died running away. All he could say was it wasn't painful, but you know what is? Reincarnating into the otome game he'd have wanted to burn in a fire. 

As an author who'd seen the worst of the reincarnation tropes, he decided to keep his eyes peeled for trouble and stay away from suspicious people offering him free candy. He decided he'd work to make money to eat food, sleep well, and take care of the background character he'd loved the most. But things are starting to get suspicious and he can't help but wonder if he should invest in an underground bunker instead.
