it's the summer of 1993, when a girl named kailani sage brown, moved to california all the way from new jersey. she enjoys baseball and hockey even though people tell her she can't because it's too much of a boy sport , but for a 5'2 , 14 year old girl she was tough. when she's walking around her new neighborhood with her older brothers chris, and alex they stumble upon a group of boys , and a sandlot. little did she know, going to that sandlot could change her whole summer.
