Supernatural beings have only been truly known about and documented since about 50 years ago. But they still hid well and kept to themselves. A lot of things are exactly as old books told about, before the world knew it was true.
Ghosts haunted places that meant something to them.
Werewolves still lived in large packs with an Alpha in charge.
And Vampires don't have heart beats.
The world was changing and in the last 10 years the populations of the supernaturals grew enough to where is wasn't abnormal to meet one of the types out in the open. But laws hidden from humans are slowly being broken as the different supernaturals fought on who should run things and some wanted to leave the humans in the dust.
Faedra was thrusted into the world of these beings after what she called a "pretty shitty" life, only to realize her life was just truly starting.
And at the new start, the one who made it her new life, was Joel.
