The Elders told them that every person is born with a glowing gold line. A line that runs from the center of their forearm to just below the base of their palm, on their left hand. As time goes by, the glow of the line shortens towards the base of the palm, leaving gold ink. When the glow completely leaves the line, the person's soul leaves the body. The elders called it Makhaid, the line of life. Every person is born with one, and Asteria is no exception to Mother Nature's law. Except her lifeline has no glow.
