Marinette is broken. Ladybug is strong. Ladybug defeated Hawkmoth with no help from her once loyal partner Chat Noir, she has a team of heroes behind her and is the great guardian of the miraculous. Marinette is just the girl behind the mask. The girl who is bullied by her so called friends and is almost killed before moving to Gotham to heal.
Damien is untouchable, the ice prince of Gotham. He's doing just fine on his own as both himself and his alter ego Robin, until an all too perfect girl comes into his life just to drive him crazy. Marinette seems to be the literal embodiment of happiness and perfection, but when a mysterious and powerful villain appears out of the blue it makes him rethink some things, because maybe Marinette really is too good to be be true.

"Ah...ha... Where am I?" Ladybug looked around. It was dark, total darkness. She then looked down her feet, and gasped. She was de-transforming... "Hello Ladybug," a voice said. "Oh, turns out the girl behind the Ladybug mask is none other than our own very clumsy Marinette." Ladybug realized the voice quickly. Suddenly there was light, and she was face to face with Lila. "Lila! Where am I?! What's going on?!" "Ladybug, or should I say, Marinette. I'm here to teach you that being on Hawk Moth's side is the best side to be on. He's the good guy. He can help you, and me!" "But I don't need help!" Marinette yelled, realizing that she was tied up. "Hawk Moth is the bad guy, believe it or not!" "Oh Marinette, I knew you would say something like that," Lila chuckled. "Which is why I'm here to change you." "What are you going to do?!" "Oh Marinette. If I told you, in less than a few hours, you wouldn't even remember," Lila laughed. "What... What does that mean?!" "Just sit and relax. I'm here to change you!" ----- When Lila captures Ladybug and tramples with her memory, Marinette is left to think that Lila and Hawk Moth are the good guy. So everyone has turned on Marinette believing Lila's lies. Adrien is a jerk and doesn't defend Marinette basically saying that the liers feelings are more important than his friends. Marinette moves on from them but them being the idiots they are continue to bully her. They demand that she continues to give her free stuff. Then they push it too far getting Marinette akumatised. What will they do with no ladybug to purify the akuma. Will Chat Noir still keep his miraculous. Heartbreak, crushes no more, friend loss are all in this book. Marinette moves to Gotham when Bunnix warns that Lila will ruin her life if she stays in Paris, giving Hawk Moth the chance manipulate Marinette's emotions and akumatize her.
