Mitchell McGovern a beautiful, but unscrupulous lawyer from Washington D.C. Her life is going just as planned until she is cornered into represent an obscure Sioux tribe in a fight against a huge oil conglomerate to further her career aspirations. She meets Anoki Blackfoot, a compassionate man with knack for political activism. Who happens to the chief of the Sioux tribe.

Anoki takes an instant disliking to Mitchell and her peculiarly selfish ways. However, when someone tries to frame Anoki to take him out of the fight, Mitchell springs to his rescue. Anoki notices that Mitchell is kinder at heart than he first thought. But, the pressures of Anoki's role as a chief leave him blind to Mitchell's affections. 

Mitchell dives headlong into the case to try and distract herself from her feelings. When, Anoki's ex-girlfriend, Misae Younger, threatens to come between them, Mitchell has to act fast. But will they ever find the love they both deserve?
