Six months after inheriting the responsibility of Captain America from Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson decides to decline the shield and places it in the Smithsonian museum to join the dedicated Captain America display. While in the early stages of investigating a new wave of freedom fighters, the Flag Smashers, it seems the title of Captain America, along with the vibranium shield has been bestowed to John Walker, a highly decorated soldier for the US Army, by the Government. This news is enough to bring Bucky Barnes out of his apartment and do more than just attend his mandated therapy sessions, leading to Sam and Bucky joining forces. On this particular encounter with the Flag Smashers, John Walker and his partner Lemar Hoskins attempt to assist Sam and Bucky. All four of them find themselves in a quaint English village where an unknown person joins the conversation. ----------- I, of course, do not claim to own the Marvel characters. This fiction takes place instead of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series 1 [if you haven't watched it - I highly recommend, although if you're here I'm assuming that means you have already watched it]. I may not do the original story line justice, but I'm really only writing this to develop my own character and using it as an exercise to process bereavement. The plan is to write this book, then a second one and then create an alternative novel which would combine book 1 and 2. - I better not see any of this on Tik Tok or similar -

Rose and Steve are now in modern times (2016) having issues with their superpowered roommates (The Avengers) and trying to get their PTSD ridden third member of the trio (Bucky) to remember that he cares about them. James Buchanan Barnes, Bucky for short, has been struggling with finding his identity and healing without Steve Rogers, six months after they rectified the Blip in what the world now calls The Infinity Wars. He is now working with Sam Wilson on a new case involving the group the Flag Smashers. When Sam invites Bucky to a small gathering for a fish fry when they first reconnect, Bucky gives in despite his frustrations and wanting not to. Sam had three simple rules, one was "Don't flirt with my sister. Any family really is off limits..." But Bucky may have to break that rule, and already betray his new friend. Bucky enjoys the gathering and connects with others. When he meets Nadzia Rex he hits it off with her faster than he thought he would. He even tried to forget her after their first intimate encounter and goes on a date with a waitress when home in Brooklyn. But the two keep in touch and he finds himself constantly returning to De La Croix, Louisiana to do more than check in with Sam Wilson. The question then becomes is this just a fling or something more? This fanfiction will have romance, Bucky Barnes fluff, Sam Wilson Fluff (briefly), found family, healing and acceptance. It is Bucky and an Original character who is purely human. (This takes place during The Falcon and The Winter Soldier after episode two entitled The Star Spangled Man.
