Christy Meadows is an 18 year old girl who lives in San Diego.
She looked at the silver gun in her hands and felt afraid.

She walked over to the window and reflected on her crowded surroundings. She had always hated San Diego with its brawny, burnt beaches. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel afraid.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Jeremy Winder. Jeremy was a lovable lover with charming lips and a slim body.

Christy gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was an energetic, intelligent, whiskey drinker with pale lips and skinny body. Her friends saw her as a graceful, hard gamer. Once, she had even helped a puppy recover from a car accident.

But not even an energetic person who had once helped a puppy recover from a car accident, was prepared for what jeremy had in store today.

**Unedited** "She can't come to the phone right now. I'll be happy to take a message for you." My blood runs cold. "Where is she? What have you done to her?" He doesn't say anything and I don't hear her. I start to panic. "Nothing, yet." "If you touch her-" "What Luke?!" He cuts me off. I bite my lip and pass my hand through my hair. "What could you possibly do to me that you haven't already done?!" My eyes starts to water. This lunatic would hurt her and I knew he would. "I beg you," I tell him. "I'll do anything you want. Just leave her be. I'll meet you wherever you want. Take me, please, just leave her out of this." I hear Jasmen crying. "See, but where would all the fun be in that? I could smack you around, take away your fancy cars, and you'd be fine. But if I do this-" I hear Jasmen screaming again. What the hell was he doing to her? I swore the minute I got the chance too, I was going to kill him. "No, please stop! For fuck sake, please!!" I felt helpless. I was letting her down in the biggest way. "See what I mean. This beautiful doll is your Achilles heel man. And you won't like it, she won't like it, but I am going to enjoy this next part." Having uprooted her entire life for love, Jasmen finds herself stuck in London with Heartbreak and penniless. She soon finds a job at a big company and falls for CEO, Lucas Bowers. After a whirlwind romance, the shades are pulled from her eyes. Can this new, awakening relationship survive Lucas past? Or will one or both lose their lives because of his lies and deceit?

I hope you enjoy reading every part of this psychological thriller. Comments and suggestions are most welcome. Reproduction of any part of this original story is prohibited. PROLOGUE Head investigator, Brent Sherwood found a very distraught young woman at the crime scene. She was hiding in the walk-in closet behind the hanging wardrobes of the dead man. Her eyes were wary and scared. He asked for her name. "Nikola", she whispered in thick Italian accent. Her voice was full of anguish and despair . "Are you the dead man's daughter?" Brent asked the young woman whose exotic beauty was covered with sweat, tears and great fear. She shook her head and mumbled, "Wife". There's a pang of regret that stuck in his throat. In that moment of disbelief, he immediately erased that first impression to console a bereaved woman. Whoever believes in love at first? Such foolishness should be deleted off his mind. His feelings must not cloud his judgement. He must act in accordance to his job even if it's his first time to admire a woman after 3 years in solitude. Did she kill her husband? That's the question he must unravel before focusing on his own personal motive.
