1 in 11,000 people are diagnosed with gender dysphoria. That ’s over 5,000 people in the UK, 28,000 people in the U.S. That is just those diagnosed, it doesn’t take into account those who ignore their feelings about their identities. Those who suffer without saying, those who try and live ‘normal’ lives.
I know this poem paints a sad picture for trans persons and that, for the majority this is not the reality but if it makes you think, if it gives you pause... maybe you could open your heart to those who do not get to live as they should without judgement.
The cover? The blue rose? Love and depression in one.

I know using they/them as pronouns seems a little threatening, but there are a lot of people who use it as their pronouns, and this is for them. But the book is written in a clear way where you won't get confused. So please give it a read. Everyone does for your books. **** Blue. A fitting name for the gender neutral pianist of a punk rock band. A name that expresses the amount of guilt that weighs one down, as well as the depression sinking one's heart. But blue is a beautiful color, one of clear skies and shining water. Just like the person, the color Blue is a lot of things. Many years ago, Blue's parents died in a car crash, resulting in their older brother Luke to raise them with the help of his best friend, Andrew. Andrew had always been accepting of Blue, making sure they always felt safe in his presence. Of course, they always assumed he was merely playing nice due to the fact he was in love with Luke. When Blue's grades begin to falter, Andrew agrees to help tutor them, bringing them closer together. Through their friendship, he helps them learn how to deal with life as the nights get long and how to begin to ask for what they want without guilt, even if it means wanting to be with him. *This book is inspired by the anime Junjou Romantica, though it is far more appropriate than that anime, so you will notice some correlation. The world is a cruel place. For some people, they love to live in this happy, forgiving, earth. But, the others who aren't so lucky, want to do anything and everything to escape it's unjust ways. To live in another world, a world of peace, of kindness. They say that the best people are the ones who get hurt the most. I am one of them. I hate the way that everyone is so happy in this earth, the way that they can live a good and cheerful life, when I am stuck with the dark depths of depression. In my world, I lacked happiness, friendship, and love. But, something changed. No, someone changed everything. He changed the way I looked at the world. He changed the way I wake up in the morning. As someone who lives with depression and anxiety, a lot of my thoughts are bound to not be very pleasant. But hey, some of them are quite philosophical and positive. But that's rare. Join me on my journey through sadness, happiness, curiosity, mystery, and so much more. I was inspired to make a collection of my poems, and I decided to just do it. This short story is based around the loss of a friend, and coping with that loss with therapy. ~~~ I placed the letter back down onto the small coffee table, wiping away the tears that rested in the corner of my eyes. "How do you feel, Samuel?" the doctor asked, hovering her pen over a piece of paper. "I feel the same way I did the last time you made me read that letter" I responded back, a slight bitterness in my voice. "And how did you feel?" "Lost. Lonely. Hurt. Betrayed." I listed, watching as she wrote it all down, listening as the pen scratched against the paper roughly. "Anything else?" She pressed on, staring down on me like an ant. "I lost my best friend. How do you think I fucking feel?" The tone of my voice made her flinch slightly, but she quickly regained her professionalism. "Samuel, I need you to calm down. Shouting at me isn't going to do you any good". She pushed her glasses further up her face as she scribbled more onto the page. "Shouting?" All of the signs that lead us here! Depressed State of Mind Part 2 It's poetic and symbolic all of the signs that lead us here! In a moment in time that you can only see in the past tense of life. Like destiny it was meant to happen. It's poetic and symbolic how even though I read you that letter trying to save my marriage to him in the hospital it was you that ended up saving me in the end.
