Theo Altair has a death wish.
 
He has tried everything he can think of to cut his life short but he can never seem to get it right, and somehow he always manages to survive. His latest attempt nearly destroys his ship, which houses a sentient A.I. named Shade who is not particularly thrilled with Theo's antics, and the duo is forced to make an emergency landing on a nearby farming moon to make repairs.
 
There Theo meets Dimitri, a farmer-cum-engineer with a penchant to sing away his worries. The two form an unlikely friendship and when Theo tries to run away from his feelings, Dimitri isn't quick to let him go so easily. He takes it upon himself to join Theo on his flight to the next star system - with some help from Shade - and Theo is forced to face his feelings head on. 
 
But there are some things lurking in space that are more frightening than letting yourself be cared for.

Broken Boundaries by SciFurz

A while ago the question of what if an alien is so cute, a straight guy can't help but still fall in love depite the alien being male, came to me. And of course, the idea for a new story was born soon thereafter. This is the result, my latest novel set in the science fiction Aoyu Universe as of this writing, and the first (and at this time only) gay/bisexual romance themed story that I've written. --- During the Earth-Silth conflicts, two commanders of opposing warships played a game of chicken at one of the outer known solar systems, the result being a head-on collision and two ships fused together at the bows. After the cease fire agreement plans were made to salvage what they could from the ships and Alain from Earth was sent as part of a two man crew to recover components from the Earth vessel while a team from the Silth would handle theirs. Whether or not Theodore Aspen (Theo, to his few friends) wanted to get dragged into the conflict between his old home, Terra, and his new one, Earth, that doesn't matter. He thought that by becoming an exchange student to Earth with his lupine best friend, Alaina, he would be able to leave his past as an orphan behind and find a new family. The second part happened. The first didn't, and now he's going to find himself on the front lines of the war that he wanted to flee, and it's all due to a few mistakes that he made (mostly, not realizing that his principal on Earth wasn't quite human; no, Mister Marlboro likes Camels, hates Terrans, and oh, wants them all dead. He's going to try all he can to make sure that that happens, and it's Theo and co's job to make sure that it doesn't.) They'll have to stay alive first, but so far so good, thankfully. Ezra thought his grades would get him posted to a place in the Navy that reflected his ability, something like First Fleet, the Raiding Nine, or even Home Guard. Humanity's enemy the Preshk where attacking more often and Ezra wanted to be contributing directly to the war effort. Instead he got put on a Scout ship with just one other soul and sent on a five month mission out into deep space. The mission quickly becomes more than the young commander could have ever expected and the fate of humanity lies in how fast he can return back to humanity. This short story is just over 18,000 words and contains sexual content between two men, so If that's not your cup of tea.. don't read :) This is my first attempt at something like this, so feedback is welcome, though be nice :)

Henry Starbuck is the first mate onboard such a vessel, the Pequod. He only wants to finish the season and return home to his husband and son. But the captain of the Pequod, Ahab, is a man obsessed with hunting down the vessel which took so much from him. There are legends of his quarry, Moby-Dick: talk from spacefaring astronauts that the ship, shaped like the extinct whales of old, is no longer crewed and is run entirely off a rogue AI programme. Many lives have been lost to it. Starbuck has to confront the terror of space and the awful mania of his captain, all the while dealing with a past which will never leave him alone. He wishes desperately to do what is right. The farthest galaxies are heartless, but no more cruel than the horror that exists inside man.
