Another boring day of work at the small cafe has you tiredly trudging back towards your small apartment. Upon entering, you do your usual routine before plopping down onto a beanbag chair to catch up on your daily commissions. Halfway through, the screen of the phone becomes searing hot, prompting you to drop it to the ground in surprise.

The phone hits the ground and a bright light flashes through the room before disappearing as quickly as it started. Eyes blinking desperately to readjust after the previous events, the white fuzz slowly fades to reveal the silhouette of a person, standing stiff with something in their hand. A few more blinks reveal who it is. There, in the middle of your room, stands Xiao, his jade spear tightly clenched in his hands, now aimed at you.

Why was he here? And not in the game? How would he get back?
