Dane is a reclusive young transgender-identified man from a town where everyone sees him as a freak or an attention seeker. One day, a fight with his unsupportive mother pushes him to leaving town with nothing but a bag of as much stuff as he could carry and an old pick-up truck. He drives off into Rosewood, a town he had never heard of, and he hadn't known would bring him the best and worst things in his life, including the love of his life. After finding out this love is a vampire whose innate desires should be to kill him, though puzzled, he refuses to give up the only love he's ever known.
