The Alpha's Serendipity

His eyes were cold and distant as he stared down at me with a look of betrayal. "I never should have expected anything different from you," he bit out, low enough for the others not to hear. "You turned out to be just like her, just like everyone else."

Each word felt like ice piercing my skin. My heart was breaking. "No, you... you don't understand! I... I didn't mean it!" I managed to cry out, forcing my words to come out as softly as they could.

I hugged my elbows tightly with tears beginning to well up in the corners of my eyes. He never listens.

His eyes grew angry watching a few tears slip from my lashes. The fire in them forced his knuckles to turn white as his fists shook lightly. "How could you?" he barked loudly, gaining the attention of a few guests.

I panicked slightly with anxiety nipping the hair on my neck. This was suppose to be a private conversation. "You're not listening to me! Please keep it down!" I whispered as my eyes widened. My heart was beating quickly as the conversation turned deadly.

He growled furiously and grabbed my wrist roughly, tugging me closer. "I, Lorcán Ragnar, Alpha of Pack Merick reject you, Inina Leucos, as my mate and future Alpha Ostana of Pack Merick." He growled, dropping my wrist forcefully.
