"I'm here until I finish high school." A phrase that two eighteen-year-old nerds in East Riastell share. Oliver Murphy and Amelia Hofstedder are nerds at best. While both have their own worlds and journeys ahead of them, fate allows the two to meet as students of East Riastell High.

Oliver, an above-average student, is about to meet the end of his ever-searching journey in High School. Meanwhile, Amelia along with her parents are new to town. She is facing the same situation but has to deal with the burden of having to leave and transfer to different schools each year due to her father's business. All she ever wanted was for them to settle down, but knowing that their stay in East Riastell is temporary, she doesn't feel at home at all.

Along with his friends, Oliver plans on getting through the whole year to find better opportunities outside East Riastell. All goes well when all of a sudden, he meets Amelia, an exchange student and a new personality to East Riastell High. Amelia, struggling to keep herself from falling apart, faces new challenges that would test her strength. With her mother being in a coma, she desperately begs for a miracle. The two, being close by the end of the semester, tries to help each other throughout the whole school year. Little did they know, both of them will make a huge change in each other's lives. Changes that would lead to life-altering choices and would determine what their life will be like in the future, with or without the other person.

Hardly anyone reads my books, even if they're free, but I do have one fan, and he's supported me since I started writing two years ago. Except, my writing started to take a depressing dive when I realized that you simply couldn't prevent nor protect your heart from falling for someone. For him. For the one who had no interest in me. When I fell in love with him, I thought we had a chance. It was an accident. Turned out, I couldn't be more wrong. He doesn't want me, and I wasn't supposed to have him. It didn't matter if he showed up in the bookstore every day, talking to everyone else except me. Nor did it matter at all because he didn't know sign language. He couldn't learn. We couldn't communicate. But after I go on a date and it ends in putrid disaster, he makes his appearance known, and he's angry. Then he's doing things for me that confuse me. My stories are filling up with pages of content, dreams that I want to come true, and my mystery commenter encourages me to continue-to reach my happiness. To take what I want. But the activities planned start sparking familiarity-like I lived it before, or maybe dreamed it. Or maybe, just maybe, I'd written it before? My mind is spiraling, but I can't stop myself from getting closer and closer to him. I'm not supposed to have him, but my heart craves him. Sage Monroe, I'm in love with you, and I'm scared now because I have a feeling that you've been communicating with me in more ways than one.

Graduation is right around the corner for Ada Sinclair. She's spent all of high school saving up for her dream college and skipped high school traditions to keep her grades up for scholarships. When the acceptance letter came in the mail, every ounce of her effort felt worth it. She's spent her life being a small fish in a small pond, but eagerly awaits September so she can spread her wings and move on to big things. When her mother comes home to reveal she is in the early stages of Huntington's Disease, a disease passed down from her own mother, she can't hide from the truth she may be next in line. It is then that her plans and dreams for her future shatter. Nothing is more important to her than her family, people who need her and her strength more than Ada needs her dreams. Not knowing how much time she has left with her mother, she makes the choice to remain at home and has no regrets. Only the fear of uncertainty. Feeling like the world is crashing down on her, Ada turns to the man who's been there for her for the last four years. He'd given her the confidence she needed to become the woman she is now, held her while she cried and has been there through every struggle she's faced. He seems fully willing to be there for her again, even if that means risking his career as a teacher; her teacher. As their friendship grows stronger, they find strength in one another and a connection they can only ignore for so long, a connection that comes with life-changing consequences for them both.

They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Not before her world comes blazing down, the final battle on the horizon. Tick, tock, Amelia. You don't want to be late to the party when you're the guest of honour. COMPLETED 06/11/20

Amelia Ray McKenna is an outgoing teenager, thriving in the social landscape of high school. With a tight-knit group of friends, a supportive family, and a life that seems perfectly in place, she feels as though everything is as it should be. That is, until Christopher Nicholson moves into her neighborhood. Amelia is instantly intrigued by the arrival of the Nicholson family, especially since it's not every day that a childhood friend returns home. After the death of Mark Nicholson, beloved father and wife to the Nicholson family, at the age of nine, Christopher and his family had uprooted and left abruptly. Amelia hadn't heard from the family-not even her mother, who was friends with Christopher's mother, Charlotte, could either. After seven years of silence, the family moves back in, and Amelia is determined to reconnect. But the boy she once knew is gone. The cheerful, easygoing friend she remembered has been replaced by a distant, brooding stranger. Known for her energetic personality and outgoing nature, it only makes sense that she would want to catch up with Christopher. However, the boy she once knew is no longer the same. The carefree, smiley friend from her childhood has been replaced by a distant, detached young man. He barely speaks to her and shows little to no emotion outwardly to anyone else either. Amelia is shocked by the transformation, struggling to understand what has happened to the boy who was once so full of life. As she watches him, Amelia begins to wonder just how much his father's death- and the years that followed- have shaped him. Was the grief of losing his father the only thing that changed him, or is there more to the story than she ever imagined? One thing is clear though: Amelia, ever the optimist, is determined to break through the walls Christopher has built around himself- she had gotten her hands on a very grumpy Chris, and this time she wasn't letting him go.
