As many believe, to breathe your last refers to take a last breath before death envelopes you. But coincidence and circumstance may even suggest a breath of your last belief, thought, relationship. Allowing room to adopt a different mindset.
Such circumstance in this case would involve a different species, profession, different people, the unknown, if considering and regarding circumstance.
As for coincidences? There are none.
