What would you do if you woke up in a strange house, with giant mushrooms growing as tall as buildings?
This is the short story that I wrote for Lit Links 2021. Sadly I didn't get to enter this because it was too short but I am putting it here in case anyone wants to read it! Check out my Lit Links entry from 2020! Lit Links is a short story competition for people in the ACT keen on writing.

Thirteen Points of Light
After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. This was my first attempt at this type of writing . Thanks for reading and voting. Barely Human: A Short Story Collection
Here lies a series of short stories written out of pure boredom or when ideas I conjure up don't fit nor expand into any bigger story. As I'll be too burdened with college and personal life, I won't be continuing Hollow Ocean for the time being as I would need to revise it. However, I took the time to make some short stories that I oftentimes use as submissions for my finals. Should the need arise, I'm not opposed to writing a second collection.
