Starley Star-bub's bright blue eyes have turned violet, she's no longer obsessed with the Stonal Child and she's almost constantly making out with his twin, Weedy.
Just like old times, Alex and Peter have to work together to get this love potion thing under control; especially as it's Starley's birthday in under a week and Alex's plan won't be able to go ahead. As they reunite, Fate puts them in the path of some of their old friends who they must reconnect with too.
On top of their own issues, Starley and Alex also have to deal with, a suicidal colleague, a depressed father, a jealous friend, a disgusted step-mother and a disappointed sister, all feeling their various emotions for a variety of different reasons.
Fate begins communicating with the couple more often, presenting them with images past, present and future and relying on them to make the right decisions on what to do. Just like it was Fate who made Alex and Starley meet in the first place, it was Fate who controlled so many other events that happened in their lives and who will control so many events that they don't even know are yet to happen...
