On the barrier island off the coast of North Carolina, the people were divided into groups. It was pretty simple, really. Kooks and Pogues. Royalty and commoners.

But for Max Albright, she tended to drift away from that. Born and raised as a kook but with a heart of a pogue, she didn't feel like she fit in anywhere. Not even with the tight-knit group of mischiefs she was welcomed in after her fathers' death.

No matter where she went she was always reminded of her flaws thanks to JJ Maybank.

Max absolutely despised him. And JJ absolutely despised her.

But perhaps there's a thin line between love and hate.

And maybe that thin line was Max and JJ.
