Vampires came out into the light, metaphorically, and now are more of a normal occurrence. For a set of creatures who love immortality, humans greatly dislike vampires, and attempts to end the entire sub-species of humans who can be classified as vampires are under a hunt.
There is an insistent fight now, going on between humans and the vampires, both species fighting for their own survival.

A clinically depressed Rene Hodgson had agreed to become a guinea pig to experimenters who were looking for a way to kill vampire, her parents having killed by vampire years ago.
What Rene had not expected was getting turned into vampire herself so that she could be more on level with vampires.

Our main character, Romero Porcupine, decided that a change of scenery would be a nice decision for himself, after he had experienced a traumatizing event in his life. So, he decided to go and live in a nice, quiet town. It is said to be amazing. The townsfolk are supposedly nice. The scenery is amazing. There does seem to be a little bit of noise at night, but that is normal. Right? I mean, who would not love to live next to the woods in a town that has a "Wolf Problem," whatever that means, AM I RIGHT??? No but seriously, he is a bit concerned for his well-being, and along with trying to keep his past and his job a secret from the town, he is trying to figure out how to process some new... information... he gets about the world he lives in. The scent of the short teen used to have was gone, replaced with the putrid smell of death and rot that covered the whole room and the killer himself.
