Mackenzie Grey, a sheltered freshman going into a college with an ex-boyfriend, no experience in making friends and little to no knowledge when it comes to balancing her social life versus school, considering she's never had much of a social life to begin with. Tristen Morgan, a soccer player with a huge secret. He's popular and that means plenty of rumours and even more attention. He's what you call a bad boy but if only they knew that Tristen wasn't a he but a she. She's been mixed up in things she shouldn't be and with her dream of being a professional soccer player on the line, she does everything she can to keep her secret in that tiny box that's she's spent so much time crafting.

This is not a cliché love story and it doesn't have a happy ending so prepare to be disappointed. You get front row seats to drama, messed up relationship dynamics, lies and that uncomfortable feeling in your gut when you know something isn't right. What will happen when Mac finds out she has cancer and more importantly, how will she react when she discovers Tristen is a woman? What will she do when this attraction complicates her life and goes against everything she believes in?
