You died. I mean, it happened quite a bit during your lifetime. It wasn't anything different. However, instead of you waking up in the barracks again, you found yourself in a very odd place. A place where skin and fur were the same thing. "I hope I don't die too many times here." I miss you. I miss your smell, the feeling of your fur under my paws. I miss how you fit with me, how close we could get. How close we were. I miss your touch, the one that used to send shivers up my spine. Every time you grabbed my hand to hold, or put your arms around my neck to drag me closer to you. It was a home that I never knew before. God do I miss hearing your voice. The slightest rasp, the cute laugh that cured any ill I ever felt around you. I miss the laughter we shared, the touch we shared, our embraces of nothing but pure, unsaturated love. I miss us. I really do. But it's okay, you're with me forever now. Always on my six. Always got my back. I even have our song to listen to when I want to hear you again. Your song. The song I sang to you as you died next to me. I miss you.
