When the Manchu invasion of China gave birth to the Qing Dynasty, the famous Shaolin Temple met its end at the hands of the empire. Only five practitioners of Shaolin kung fu managed to make it out alive. And it is there they swore to oppose the Qing Dynasty and restore native Han rule to China. However, it's been almost three hundred years since that oath was taken.

Jin Qilin is a student of the Shaolin monks, trained as an exorcist of demons and malevolent spirits. A shadow stains his very soul, following him like a haunting specter as he wanders China, slaying demons to get ever closer to the creature that orchestrated the destruction of a little village in Fujian. Though he quickly finds himself at odds with his goal. Is he the hunter or the hunted? Is he confronting his past or running from it? Must he trek this road alone?

TW: Dark themes explored, including sexual assault, graphic violence, religious conflict, and ethnic prejudice. Please assess your own ability to read about such topics.
