Theo doesn't believe in magic, he believes in bad people punishing people who they think can do magic, but not magic. If there were magic then you'd think everyone would have some right? So when Connor, a guy claiming to be apart of a society of magical people offers to pay him a large sum of money to participate in a tournament where he can gain powers. Theo just assumed it was some weird live action role play shit. And with that much money offered it wasn't like Theo was going to say no.
Now thrown into a world way outside his comfort zone, with magic, a godlike man named Deity, and Guardians who had inherited his power. And now Theo competing to inherit some godlike powers of his own, he's not sure if he is cut out for this. Or if the money is even worth dying for.

He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted.
