Crater green, a small town girl from Kentucky, is thinking of taking her life. She lives with her father who always seems to be drunk and harming carter. When carter is at a small corner store she runs into josh hutcherson, the most popular guy in school. Carter finds herself falling for josh as he helps her over come her thoughts of cutting.
