after the death of her father, charlotte was tossed from foster home to foster home, each set of couples more dissatisfied than the last. she was a troublemaker, after all, who would want her? that was what she told herself every time she fell asleep in a new home.

that was the case, anyway, until she was shipped off to nockfell. a dim, gloomy little town in the middle of nowhere. it was here that she found her home, her people, and her most important person.
