People say that narcolepsy doesn't sound so bad; at least it doesn't kill you. As for Hiraeth, who was, unfortunately, the first person in 2,000 people to have the disorder, it's different. It doesn't kill her biologically, it slowly kills her hope and optimism, and without it, she can't feel the desire to live. Longing to be alive, her mind unconsciously built a world where she might love and unintentionally consider it her home, but it's a home that doesn't exist.
