Gotham City: the definition of crime. The mob, gangs, and organized crime had dominated the streets. The police are mere annoyances to the law breakers in the town, as they have not had Gotham in control for decades. That is until a hero arrives. Or rather, a vigilante. Bruce Wayne is a billionaire who has personally seen and lost so much of the crime in this city, having had his parents murdered in front of him as a child. Using his feat of bats as an inspiration, Bruce soon dawned the name of "Batman" and became the one thing to stop criminals I'm the city, bringing hope in fear. Now when someone is sneaking illegal equipment into Gotham, it's time for the Dark Knight to team up with Jason Todd, ,otherwise known as "Robin", to track and prevent the criminal mastermind planning the operation that could possibly be worse than all the criminals combined could do. A year after the events of Batman: Son Of Gotham, Bruce Wayne and the GCPD begin noticing erratic behaviour across the city of Gotham, as the citizens begin going insane and causing harm to one another, a potentially fatal gas engulfs the city, and there's one man who can stop it. Big step up from part 1" - Smithers "Overall, a great story. Kept me on my toes, I didn't know what was going to happen next a lot of the time (which might be a problem with my own works, as I feel like what I write is pretty formulaic). There's a lot more character building moments now. Riddler was actually a really fun inclusion and his presence and actions made the finale infinitely more exciting. Robin was pretty damn good and scarecrow was cool and fun and creepy yet understandable. Overall 100% your best DCSV fic and maybe your best fic overall. The Bat and the Jester
This is a realism-based story that takes place in modern 21st century Gotham City, a fictional city in an unnamed state along the eastern seaboard in what is assumed to be the United States. There are no meta-humans, or any other beings with any kind of super-powers, and all of the Bat's gizmos are based off of existing 2010 to 2020 technology. Bruce Wayne is a 27 year old man who struggles with being a CEO and a masked vigilante, Penguin is a typical, yet eccentric crime boss, Harleen Quinzel is having trouble dealing with what she was, compared to what the Joker turned her in to, and as for the Joker himself? He is, for lack of a better term: Bat-Shit crazy. This is my personal view of what might happen if a masked and armored vigilante began a crusade to clean up crime in a city the size of Boston or Manhattan. I tried to make the characters as real as possible, although I took a little poetic license and made the GCPD consider the Bat more of a nuisance rather than a wanted criminal, which while realistic would have created an entirely different story.
