• "I just wish one of these Albums would be mine one day. My name in lights, people chanting my name!" I sighed, slumping against the wall of the record store. •

Singing and playing guitar was all Lydia 'Fire' Heart wanted. It was her passion, her love. Then Danny Baileys, the hard headed Jock waltzed into the Record Store that Fire works at, asking about her favourite bands latest Vinyl. And, well, things haven't been quite the same.

• "I think I like her, dude." Danny mumbled, sitting next to his best mate. Matt just laughed at him. "Good luck with that," was his reply. My hand flew to my mouth. Danny likes me? My head rested against the doorway. Listening in was a bad idea. •

"Who are you?" the boy asked, his gaze fixed on me. I looked at him, taking in his appearance. He had dark brown hair that was slightly messy, soft curls forming at the edges. My gaze traced the tattoos peeking from under his sleeves, intricate designs etched along his toned arms, his eyes shimmered under the dim light, catching the faint glow of the alley and held something unreadable, an intensity that made it hard to look away. His tan skin stood out against the dim light of the alley, adding to his striking presence. Realizing I was staring, I glanced behind him and noticed he had come out of a plain black door. I hadn't even realized it was there. "Who are you?" I echoed, tilting my head slightly. He smirked. "Nice act. Come on, what do you need? A picture? An autograph?" His brow lifted as he studied me, waiting for a response. I sighed, brushing off the assumption. "I don't need anything from you. I genuinely have no idea who you are." "Damian Reed," he introduced himself smoothly. His voice deep and raspy, carrying a rough edge that made me pause for a second. "And you are?" "Estella." He raised an eyebrow, waiting for me to continue. "Estella White," I added. ~~~~~ Damian Reed. The boy in the band. "Daniel asked me to be his girlfriend," she spoke softly. The color rushed out of my face hearing the few words making my mouth grow dry. I tried to conceal the growing tears erupting from my orbs knowing I was hurt. I knew he would pick her over me. I knew that she was better for him. I knew that I had to step aside because as much as I wanted it, I would never take away her happiness. "Oh," I stiffly said. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind, but he asked me go on a date," she spilled trying to sense feelings. Her obliviousness was astounding. A sharp strand was hung behind my ear placing it there as I bit my lip not knowing the words to say. "That's great," I almost weeped. "I'm sorry. I know how much he meant to you. Things just kind of clicked, you know?" she pleaded with guilt. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure both of you are happy together," I smile clutching my fists. She threw me a pity smile believing every word before walking back towards Daniel soon leaving in their car. I looked down in hesitation on the news that has sparked in my mind. Tears feel like waterfalls as I quickly shut the door before they could see me. Just as I thought I was unseen, Daniel's glance had something; pain. - They were so different. One was living his dream preforming in sold out concerts while the other was scurrying through her last couple months of high school. Maybe it was fate that brought them together - or maybe it was destiny, but obstacles built strong allow their relationship to become unstable. Besides, she could never do that to her best friend. In which a girl afraid of love decides to put her happiness aside so that her best friend and beloved crush could be together. - *in editing process* The sequel is out now! Catherine was about to say something, but the office door flew open. I let out a breath of relief. Grabbing Daphne's arm, I led us towards the opened door. I pushed her in, and was about to follow, when Mathew caught my eye. He was watching me, his grey eyes locked with my green ones, until I hastily broke the contact and disappeared into the office. ★★★ Tessa Parker is starting her junior year in high school, desperate to keep her head down and pass through the year unnoticed like she usually does. Cal Jackson's new life as a rockstar fails to account for one thing: the existence of the girl he loves. ***** "What are you thinking about?" she asks. "A song," I say. "A new song." I stare at the ocean as I sing the song that I wrote, something that comes from the darkest place of my heart. "Do you even know how gifted you are?" she whispers. "You're destined to be someone big, Cal." "Really?" "Yeah." ***** She's perfect in every way. Beautiful. Smart. Her bright future is right there in front of her eyes. While here I am. Ruined. No college, let alone a future. Just an image of a wannabe rockstar with tattoed arms and an old guitar. I knew that our story would be no less than that tragic Romeo and Juliet shit the moment I laid my eyes on her, but still, I can't resist her. The moment she whispers my name, "Cal," I lose all sanity. She becomes my melody, my lyrics, the song that keeps echoing in my ears. People call her Mia. I call her my Amy, her name crafted above my beating heart, tattoed on my skin. Amelia Davis is my girl. Mine. And only mine. ***** THE JACKSONS BOOK #1 © 2021 Anya Jayvyn. All Rights Reserved.
