There is no escape from destiny. That was never more clear to Connie Tuhoe than it was in this moment, on the rooftop of the high rise. Clouds danced at his fingertips, the city below the toes of his shoes squirmed like insects uncovered from their hiding place. There was no choice now, he only hoped that his friends could find it in their hearts to forgive him.
The leather was foreign in his hand, cold and unwelcoming to the touch, but calling his name in such a sweet voice that he ignored the chills creeping up his spine. He could smell it now, the sent of death and decay that radiated from the sleek black mask, it filled his nose as he raised it to his face.
His heart pounded against his rib cage and panic threatened to overtake him but what other choice did he have? He had to do it for them. For the ones he was too weak to protect. For the screams still ringing in his ears. For the blood staining his hands. For a means to an end.
Shaking as the leather touched his cheeks he squeezed his eyes shut and took his last breath, letting the void swallow him whole.

Lily's breath hitched as she slammed her foot on the gas pedal. She couldn't afford to stop-she knew he wasn't far behind. He never was. Her trembling hands gripped the steering wheel tighter. The crowd she had just driven through blurred into a smear of faces, but one stood out. Klaus. His piercing eyes locked onto her car The look on his face was like a dagger to her chest-anger so potent it scorched her soul, hurt so raw it twisted her insides. She couldn't escape him. She had pissed off Klaus Mikaelson-her best friend. No, she corrected herself, former best friend. Now, he wanted her dead. Or worse. The thought made her stomach churn. She didn't fear death-no vampire truly did-but the prospect of Klaus's revenge, the torture he was infamous for... that terrified her. She had seen what he could do to his enemies, the cold efficiency with which he broke them, both body and spirit. The man she had once trusted above all others, the one person in the world who had made her feel truly safe, was now the source of her deepest fear. A painful ache bloomed in her chest as memories of him flooded her mind-the way he used to smile at her in his rare moments of peace, the way his presence had been a shield against every fear and doubt she'd ever had. Part of her wanted to surrender. She thought about it often during her five years on the run. Would it be easier to face him and accept whatever punishment he had planned? After all, hadn't she earned it? She longed for just one more moment in his arms, for him to hold her as he used to, to remind her that she was safe. It was a foolish wish. He would never forgive her. She doubted he was even capable of forgiveness, not with the weight of all his centuries of pain. She barely noticed the sign ahead until it loomed into view, its bold letters illuminated in the headlights. Mystic Falls. Would Klaus find her here? Of course, he would. He always did. And this time, she wouldn't run.

Highest rank #27 in Teen Fiction. Written by @apricitys. _ _ _ "What is this?" He asked, not even bothering to look at the canvas in front of me. Instead, his eyes were locked in mine. I swallowed my saliva, chills running down my spine. I felt my palms getting sweaty as my legs nervously started bouncing up and down. Without giving me time to answer, he took a step closer to me, eyes still locked in mine. Each time he inched closer, I used my right foot to slowly push myself and the stool back. It seemed to be the only option to get away from him; until he forced his hands below the sides of my thighs, holding the stool in place. He released a soft chuckle as he eyed me from my eyes, down to my lips. "You're beautiful," he said. From his voice, I couldn't tell if he was being serious, or messing around. It sounded sincere, however there was a smirk on his face. The smirk that he always has on his face when he's found an amusing target. Then he averted his attentions back to my eyes. His expressions softened up the moment his eyes landed back on mine. His smirk disappeared. I cleared my throat and broke the eye contact. I looked down at my palms as I rubbed the sweat against my jeans, "What do you want, Landon?" I asked, almost whispering. I felt his hand brushing against my right cheek, as he tilts my chin up to look back at him. His messy brown hair, his light blue eyes and his pink soft lips were just centimeters from mine. I felt his breath lingering on the upper tip of my lip. In a panic, I pressed my palms against his chest and push him off. He stumbled back with a surprised look on his face. "Aubrey." _ _ _ Landon Carthy is an arrogant boy, who knowns to have absolutely no care in the world. Making girls suffer feels great to him. But what happens when a new girl in town becomes one of his victims? Will she allow him to walk upon her like all the other girls do?
