Prior to the events of "The Vampire's Hybrid", we venture back in time to 1625. Shayne Robert Topp lives in a small English settlement, which is being terrorized by "nightfeeders". Desperate to prove himself, he goes out alone to find them and stop the imposing threat...only to become one of them. 

The story follows Shayne living through decades (and eventually centuries) not knowing who he is or what his purpose is. War is on the horizon and he'll find himself at the forefront of it.
