Academy city, the world's most advanced place on earth, where 80% are students that are trained to become espers, people with supernatural psychic powers, filled with secret conspiracies, and experiments, to Misaka also known as the railgun this is nothing new... she faced it her whole life.
For Touma his life has been filled with nothing but bad luck, thanks to a hand that stops the supernatural including his luck, living in a city based on science, he discovers Index, a girl running from a magic cabal. Magic and science, two opposing sides are beginning to collide, but not before something else enters the equation.
As these sides collide, a new element is at play, that no one expected as to both Touma and Misaka, everything is about to change... and it all started when they found Alex, a boy in academy city without any identification or much memory of his past, holding a strange box.
Alex is sent into the middle of this conflict, with powers neither esper nor magic, he builds up his name.

Naturally, having such high powers, she has faced many weird phenomenon within the city known for the weird and scientifically advanced. However.. her knowledge about the universe is challenged when she meets a particularly weak esper named Ben Tennyson, whose been living on the streets because he couldn't afford the dorm. Touma Kamijou and Index are both sent to Avignon, France in order to help destroy an artifact being used by the Catholic Church to turn the world against the Science Side and cause war. However, they disappear soon upon arrival.. and Ben and Mikoto step in to search for them. Things get more difficult however when Vilgax makes a surprise visit to France.. and Ben finds himself facing another member of God's Right Seat, Terra of The Left, while Mikoto is left to fend against the mysterious Malware, a being born of Tree Diagram and the DNA of Upgrade. The world seems to be turning further upside-down as the occult, science, and what lies beyond our planet get mixed in a titanic showdown.Complete
