As a cat-shapeshifter, Ren's life has never been easy.

All he knows is that the world sees him as a monster. A demon that shouldn't be given love.

But when a seemingly good act gets him arrested and sent on probation in Tokyo, Ren Akuryo decides that what seemed like bad luck might be his one chance to leave everything behind. To start over.

A simple goal is set: Trust no one, keep the secret, and then live a new life. All as a normal human being.

But as friendships form left and right, secrets of the past get revealed, and fears demand to be faced, all on top of a conspiracy threatening the entirety of Japan, there's only one thing that's clear:

This is my first ever fanfic, so it probably won't be the best. I'm working through some stuff and wanted to write and here we are. Having said that, I hope you enjoy it anyway (or at least have a nice day regardless). I feel like it gets better as it goes soooo idk

After being freed from prison, he finds out that something went wrong when the timeline was restored. Futaba knows him not as her lover, but merely as his friend. Now Akira must find a way to cope with this new life in Hometown, while trying to juggle the return of the Metaverse, and Futaba tries to find her way through the complex feelings she has for Joker, but can't quite explain, as well as the dreams that almost feel like memories. Will she push through and recover her memories and her love? Or will she and Akira both fade into the Mementos of what they have lost. I took a couple liberties with events and the Timeline, but overall, I stayed fairly close to the original game's story.
