DILUC X READER : Bound to you

"I want to forgive you, I don't think I can live without you."

Before you and Diluc could wield swords, you two have been inseparable, joined at the hip, some may say. You have grown up together; what started as a mutual love for horses grew into a friendship so tight that the city of Mondstadt knew it had to be something more...Late nights training together under Jean and Varka's mentorship, early morning walks around the city, picnics under Windrise. Your parents seem to have accepted that in the evening, when the city fell to slumber, that you and Diluc would be together in your room, still whispering about your day.

Your parents seem to be important people. They were never home, never present and always traveling. "For business." They'd say. But you knew better, you knew it was more than that. You also knew that what they did was dangerous- life threatening at times. So much so that rumors say they have their own small battalion of guards. One story stood out to you, about one of said guards. Townspeople speak about a soldier with the resilience and cunningness of fire, with hair so red they'd believe it were flames coming from his head. You always thought about Diluc and his rugged output.

You and Diluc are now grown up. Less together, as you both have jobs. You working under the Nights of Favonius and Diluc operating the tavern as well as managing the wine industry, but the bond you two have is still present, still strong.
You spend nights at the tavern after closing hours, blabbering on about your training that day, the abyss mages you defeated, but Diluc stays quiet. He never talks about his day much, or his work...and you never really see him at the tavern, nor at his estate, but you don't question it, even though you should've.
