Instead of following in her Father's and Sister's footsteps by completing a doctorate, she pursued her dream of becoming a detective for the Boston Police Department. 

She hasn't seen her sister in a few years due to her being at Boston Cambridge University and her sister not telling her friends and colleagues about her.
