A game of shadows and lies is played as a ship heads for a solitary world, a certain raven-haired god is broken and left with only a single name as a memory, and a mad ruler prepares a deadly tournament for his own sick enjoyment. Each of these truths stand alone, but in the battle for the universe, there is seldom a causeless action taken. A mysterious foe lingers in the mind of the fallen, sentient powers awaken, and the truth the universe tried to hide will come to light. What happened in the time known as the 'before' and why does it seem no one is willing to break their vow of silence?
