This is an Au where Yamaguchi never played volleyball but he played basketball instead (I'm watching Kurokos basketball at the moment too so I chose basketball). None of the Karasuno team have ever met him due to the fact that hes shy and doesn't like meeting other people because he thinks people will bully him for his freckles again even though his best friend Tsukishima tells him that they are nothing to be ashamed of and that people will love him if he just talked to people more and put himself out there.
