Astrid was born an angel but never fit her "good girl" role. Her father is the ruler of Olympus which set high standards for Astrid.

Her uncle, Diabolos is ruler of the under world. His son Bellamy, was born a demon but is true to his form.

Astrid is forbidden to lurk beyond the sky but when she got word of an arranged marriage between her and Atlas, her goody goody best friend, she looked for an escape.
