Ochaco has been poor all her life. Her parents' company doesn't make them much money so it has always been a struggle. Her part-time job is what pays the tuition for UA and the money her parents send her helps with the rent. Still, she couldn't afford to go on any outings with the class anywhere, well, until that day near the beginning of the year.
