In a world where people are born with the name of their soul mate on etched into their wrists, Frank Ireo is a freshman in college who aspires to become a biochemist, wanting to get rid of his mother's stereotypical views that he would never achieve anything in life. He is a silent boy who still manages to stand out with his intellectual abilities.
Gerard Way is part of a secret organization that serves to protect the country from harm as well as single individuals that can afford to pay for their services. Although Gerard is barely twenty, he is extraordinary, almost as good as the older agents. None the less, he finds out that he yet has much to learn when he is assigned to protect Frank.
