Dean Winchester lives in District 12, the poorest district in Panem. He lost his mother to starvation, and his father just disappeared one day. He lives with his surrogate father, Bobby Singer, and little brother Sammy. It's Dean's 4th year in the reaping, and Sammy's 1st. Sammy's worried about being picked. But he isn't. Dean is, and Sammy makes him promise that he'll win, that he'll come back to them alive. Dean knows that unless he's willing to do brutal, inhumane things, he'll break his promise. And he knows he'll do them, because he will not break his promise to Sammy. Trapped in a brutal death match, knowing that of the 24 entering the arena, only one will exit alive. Dean fights. He doesn't fight for glory or fame. He fights for one reason, and one reason only. He fights for Sammy.
