Angel is smart.
Almost extraordinarily smart, so when the recesses of her mind begin to reveal scenes and places that don't add up to what she knows, what she perceives to be the truth - she sets off to find the secrets of what she is and what she has done.
Yet she finds out that even her genius can be kept under lock and key, promises can be broken and abused over and over again, and people can just as easily kill to get what they want.
When Angel is sent to a school for gifted children, she isn't oblivious of the hell that lies beyond the iron gates, but she finds out just how intelligent she can be when humans are stretched to their limit.
