Elis's life is going well except for the murder of her father. The murderer could not be found due to a small lack of evidence, and the case was decided to be closed. Her father, John Routier to be exact, was a brilliant surgeon who popularized across the United States. Elis dreams of achieving the same level as her father. She devotes all her days to the deepest study of subjects in order to get into a good university, which she dreams of. On the day of the tests, the girl fails them because of a phone call informing about her mother's bad condition. Elis realizes that all her dreams of going to a good medical university and becoming a surgeon are Karen's pre-planned plan. When Elis applies to the police academy, her application, to her surprise, is approved and she is accepted. Elis doesn't tell her family about going to a very different university and doesn't want to reveal the fact that she actually wants to bring one case to fruition with her own hands. She wants to look her father's killer in the eye.

"Shes dangerous because she's calm in chaos and ruin but anxious in the quiet." Beth and her friends barely made it through freshmen and sophomore year with their lives. But as time goes on into their junior year and relationships evolve, Henry's need for power, and obsession only grows to a whole new level... "Who are you?!" "Doesn't matter. What does matter is your friends lives, so listen closely...." When Beth has to lie to protect her friends from an unknown source she can't fight and help keep Henry in his place at school she is overwhelmed and things go downhill quickly. "Why don't you just talk to me?" "Because talking to you could get you killed," I finally snap.
