The story is about a girl who lives in The Rocky Mountains of Colorado and dreams of the rock cycle there. This story was written as an assignment for my college Earth Science class final project. It took me three days from the due date to have it completed. I initially had a different story that was being written when my teacher changed part of the assignment. The new assignment was to write about The Rocky Mountains. My teacher did keep the fact that it could be fictional but the story I was working on was too far to change. I had a week to research what I could and make it in to a story. The sources I used were Google, two of my teacher's power point, and SobrietyStones (2010). And the image is also from Google. *Please let me know in the comment if is confusing to you or if there is any questions.

(edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Although not technically fan fiction, there is a nod to Final Fantasy games. The cover photo is a shared copyright, Brian Barbour took the photo, I added treatments.
