The rain was thick and falling hard. But all I cared about was getting away. Hot tears running down my face as my bare feet slapped the wet grass. I could hear the beat of my heart in my ears. Fear ripping through my body like acid. Wet branches slapped and cut at my skin. This has to be nightmare, Please God let this be a nightmare. Thunder boomed, as images of my family being murdered clouded my vision.

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

WARNING: THIS BOOK HAS MAJOR PLOT HOLES, AND IS ALL TOGETHER VERY BAD. I SUGGEST YOU READ MY NEW BOOK, Skeletons In My Closet. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. When they slowly cut my skin, I didn't scream, when I felt their blades lightly drag across my stomach and legs I didn't shake. This was my life and I was used to it. It was fine. When his red stamp hit my card, I couldn't dare look. But those red letters attacked my eyes; Weak. ---------------------- This was the Alpha playing with his food. I could imagine how he would stalk to me, his head high with all his teeth showing. His pure white fur not being touched by the dust he had created when he chased after me. I can only imagine how every step for him would be a leap for me. That blood would hang from his mouth and drip onto the forest floor but not even faze his fangs. I was terrified of him. Even if I couldn't bring myself to mention it, to be weak and choose to submit. These thoughts kept me running, the invisible echo of a laugh that wasn't really there stayed in my ear, even though he was nowhere to be. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• He was terrifying, but yet, at he same time he was safe. AU: I STARTED WRITING THIS 2 YEARS AGO. ITS NOT THE BEST STORY.

🥀Heat licks up my bones and into the surrounding skin, my groan of pleasure joining Damaris's low growl of desire. However, his lips stay as gentle as his grip on my waist, allowing me to choose how far this will go. My throat rumbles as I purr from his hand slowly trailing up my arm to the side of my neck. My head clouds from the tingling sensation sparking along my flesh, a moment rich like the heady scent of roses and abruptly dashed by the sound of running feet.🌹 (🥉Third Place Best Male Protagonist Award, The Booker Awards) 🐺A fantasy world filled with magic and adventure 🗡 📜The secondary language is Latin🗝 The four walls of the twisting tower was her sanctuary. They say, "Be careful what you wish for." They say, "There's truth to every story." They say, "Karma's a B***h." A heart's wish is a powerful thing. But magic doesn't exist. Or so I thought. Now, a troll has found me. ************* Cara I can't... It hurts... Why? Am I not good enough? Not pretty enough? What did I do to be betrayed like this? I feel numb except for the gaping hole in my chest. The darkness starts creeping in. I wish... Heavens how I wish... Friday June 13th I don't know when, how, or why I ended up where I am, but here I am. As insane as it sounds, I am no longer on earth. I think. Maybe I'm dead. Or maybe I'm in a coma! One where I can feel a hell of a lot of pain and new scents are being created? Maybe, just maybe, I should have listened to Grandmother's crazy stories of magic in our blood and being careful what we wish for. They don't sound so crazy anymore. All I know is I'm on the ground, can't move, staring up at an impossibly blue sky through broken branches of trees I've never seen before. That's saying a lot. Botany is my favorite hobby. I think I have internal bleeding from falling through the three-story tall trees like a pinball. My only regrets are knowing my Mum will be in a panic, won't quit searching, and my sweet American Pit Bull Terrier, Nimuë, fell through with me. ************* Tavirian Our laws are clear. If we find any creature wounded past the point of healing, we kill them. It's a mercy. We've gotten a reputation for being ruthless and cannibalistic because of it. Hundreds of years ago, perhaps, but not anymore. I'm still a monster. I'm on my ancestral pilgrimage to present the spirits with my potential brides. I'm not thrilled with my options. My mate is out there, but the elders are pushing me to take one of our Tribe. When we come across a nearly dead, tiny human and her creature, I can't kill them. Especially now. I can use the pilgrimage to save them for now, but I'll need help.
